Standard configuration is with a DS2401 48 Bit serial ID chip which will provide a MAC address capable of operating on a private network or experimentation, but is no longer technically unique in the sense of using it directly on the internet. If you plan on using it live on the internet you should select the optional DS2502 MAC address option which will provide a unique MAC address for the unit.
