This machine was being used by a local technical college. I am not sure how to test it. I gathered some information below regarding this machine:
The MFM-100 is basically a four pole, single-phase, split-phase motor consisting of a main winding, a starting winding, a centrifugal switch, and a squirrel cage rotor. With the addition of the starting resistor, the starting capacitor, and the permanent capacitor, it is possible to operate the MFM-100 as a capacitor start motor, a two value capacitor motor, or a split-phase motor.
