Used and in great condition. This is a truly unusual, ingenious, innovative and high-quality tool with many possible uses. This wire stripper has as both top and bottom cutters a set of thin parallel blades consisting of about 30 each very thin, hardened steel blades that look much like an automobile feeler gauge except all of the blades are the same thickness. Each blade is independently spring-loaded and moves independently, depending on the force applied to it. When you insert the round insulated wire and close the stripper, each of these sliding blades cuts into the insulation independently to uniformly cut through the insulation for a very wide variety of wire thicknesses and crossection shapes. You then pull the wire out, uniformly stripping off the insulation as you go, with little or no scoring of the wire's conductor. The purpose of this unusual and special feature is for the user to be able to quickly and easily strip various wire sizes without having to individually adjust for each wire size.
The bite of this tool is crisp and clean - not like the beveled bite of most other wire strippers and wire cutters (e.g. dikes), which looks sloppy and sometimes interferes with tolerances. As well as insulation, the tool will precisely cut through a wide variety of other small soft parts that will fit within its jaws, including many plastics, rubber and balsa used by model makers, crafters and other hobbyists. And for medium hardness materials that it won't cut through, it will uniformly score them virtually around their entire perimeter for later cutting with a knife, thin saw, dikes or other tool. This is a truly exceptional tool, which also makes it a great tool collectible and tool gift.
