I have no idea what this is to but it reminds me of the Hospital bed controls.
It could be used for whatever your imagination and abilities allow.
I'm thinking a controller (manual over ride) for a home brew 3 Axis machine.. (but thats just me)
It has a led at the top a hook on the back for hanging on some thing (bed handrail?)
And 3 sets of buttons. See photo.
The cord is a pig tail style cord around 3 foot relaxed around 8 foot stretched.
I don't know how it is wired (the pinout) but if I were to take a guess at it, I'd say all the buttons and the LED share a common pin (ground).
The connector is I believe what they call a 8 pin DIN.
It should not be to hard to trace down with a multimeter after opening it up. (maybe even with out opening it up)
