The MM133 is a single axis microprocessor based 10A Unipolar PWM Stepper Driver with a control port (step/direction, I2C and limit switch inputs), an AUX IO port and ISP programming port. The Driver supports variable PWM control and supports Wave step, Full step or Half step. An onboard ATmega168 8bit RISC microcomputer allows user adjustable initial on time, duty cycle and duty cycle slew rate under I2C setup control to match the drive characteristics of almost all stepper motors. The MM133 is designed for high performance unipolar stepping applications with integrated heat sinks and Schottky diodes transient management. The MM133 is an ideal choice to drive a CNC Sherline, TAIG or similar Mill with room to spare for larger CNC projects.
The onboard processor can be instructed on the fly to change step mode, limit switch monitoring or respond to limit switch state via the I2C port. PWM configuration information is set using a Host based text editor and conversion utility so different stepper motors and drive voltages can be supported.
The MM133 uses an AVR ATmega168 8 bit RISC microcontrollers to control the PWM output to four high speed Power MOSFETs - each phase can sustain 10A (with proper heat management) ensuring support for the most demanding stepper application. Stepper input voltage may range from 7V to 35VDC. Limit switch detection logic is optionally monitored to halt stepper motion. The MM133 is an open loop design but can be converted to a closed loop design with the addtion of sensors such as Hall Effect or Linear Position sensors.
