Give some permanence to your creative Basic Stamp and BX24 designs.
Note. This is a kit which includes the PCB and all of the parts. You will require a soldering iron, handtools and solder.

There is a design deficiency associated with similar boards sold by Parallax and NetMedia. These designs feed V_power (7 to 12 VDC) on terminal 24 of the BS2 or BX24 and then use the small regulator on the expensive Stamp to output +5 VDC on terminal 21 to power peripheral circuitry. If you happened to have an accidental short or draw too much current, there is a high probability of blowing the regulator on the BS2 (or BX24). Using the $40 - $50 processor as a 5 VDC voltage regulator is, in my mind, a fatal flaw.
My design uses a hefty 7805 to feed +5 VDC to the BS2 or the BX24 on terminal 21. This also is used to feed +5 VDC to other circuitry. Thus, a short or an overload, will simply heat up the 7805 and the 7805 will shut down. When it cools, it will recycle. But, an accidental short or overload will not damage the BS2 or BX24.
This board may be used with Parallax stamps BS2-IC, BS2E-IC, BS2SX-IC, BS2P24, BS2PE, BasicX BX-24 and BasicAtom24-M.
