The module is outputs just over 5mW CW at 405nm (Violet)
These contain state-of-the-art Gallium Nitride Laser diodes, manufactured by Nichia in Japan, and the diodes alone, if you e-mail Nichia, cost a whopping $2000 USD EACH !!!!!
Its output is very bright, and will cause many things to brilliantly fluoresce , such as white paper, and anything else containing fluorescent dyes, laser dyes especially! Has loads of uses, for alignment, pointing , and scientific / experimental purposes!
A similar module to this is currently being used in Cambridge UK , by a research team building DAPI fluorescent microscopes to identify the fluorescence properties of glass objective lenses!
