These new General Radio GR874 to HN female coax adapters, catalog number 0874-9704, were part of a surplus lot from the Los Alamos National Laboratories. Each is individually packaged in its own package.
HN connectors are larger than type N connectors and have a 3/4-20 mating thread. HN connectors are designed to have increased voltage capabilities without realizing the loss of its RF parameters. Their threaded interfaces ensure a solid connection, allowing for high-power signal transmission with minimal signal loss. These connectors are well-suited for carrying high-power RF signals. Many military radio systems used HN connectors. Impedance: 50-Ohms. Frequency range: DC to 4GHz. Voltage rating: 1,500 volts RMS.
General Radio GR-874 adapters are 50-ohm uni-sex connections and are fully compatible with all other GR874 series connections. Frequency range: DC to 8.5GHz. The slide-on interface has been a standard for many years on a wide variety of test, and communication equipment, due to its good electrical characteristics and ease of mating. Nominal frequency: DC to 8.5GHz; however, the frequency range may be less depending on the opposing side of the adapter. For example: if a "between-series" GR874 adapter has an opposing side that is rated less than 8.5GHz then the adapter is assumed to be limited to the frequency of the other side. Voltage : 1000 volts max.
