This medium duty protector can be used for a service entry in a highly active lightning surge environment or at feeder panels where absolute protection must be guaranteed against external or internally generated surges.
Each phase section is rated for 50-100kA peak surge current and is designed to operate in 50 Hz or 60 Hz systems.
This protector is typically mounted at the main service disconnect switch and connected directly across the mains. To facilitate attachment, it may be connected behind a 60 amp breaker or fuseless disconnect.
