2 pcs. fluoropolymer pvdf piezo film tabs / transducers

2 piece pack of brand new piezoelectric fluoropolymer (PVDF) film tabs, 1 inch by 1/2 inch with metal pins for soldering to a PCB or connections of your choice.
Piezo film has a wide frequency response range of 0.001Hz to 1 billion Hz. It also has a vast dynamic range, low acoustic impedance (about 2.6 times that of water), high voltage output (10 times higher than piezo ceramics for the same force input,) and high dielectric, mechanical and impact resistant strength. Either ground or positive may be soldered to either connector but should be wired consistently in any one application. When used for audio applications, shielding with copper tape is recommended to reduce hum.
Although film tabs have a higher voltage output than ceramic piezos, they do not have a metal resonating disc attached and can therefore sound quieter than a brass piezo if not solidly secured to a vibrating surface. A thin layer of epoxy or silicone works well for this. You can also wedge the film tab in tightly to improve transmission.
Piezoelectric film has several advantages over traditional rigid metal piezos. It's free of self-resonance, it mounts easily on all sorts of surfaces whether flat or curved without inhibiting vibration and it's sensitive enough to capture some of the air resonance tone when mounted inside the soundboard of instruments with air chambers. It is made of thin, flexible polymer so it's lightweight yet durable. It can work on any instrument with a solid vibrating surface and it can even work with many wind instruments like saxophones or clarinets.
